Add an Instagram feed to Wix

Show your Instagram posts on any Wix page with the built-in Embed HTML element — free to start, no app to install. The feed syncs automatically as you post, and images are proxied through Simpleembed so they never expire the way raw Instagram CDN links do.

1Get your Simpleembed feed ID

Create a free Simpleembed account and connect your Instagram account — it needs to be a Business or Creator account (switching a personal account is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app). Create a feed, then open Embed code in the dashboard and copy the snippet. It comes pre-filled with your feed ID:

<script src="https://simpleembed.com/embed.js" data-feed-id="YOUR_FEED_ID" async></script>

2Add an Embed HTML element

In the Wix editor, click Add Elements (the plus icon) in the left panel, choose Embed Code, then Embed HTML. Wix places an HTML iframe element on the page — drag it to where the feed should live.

3Paste the snippet

Click the element and choose Enter Code. Make sure Code (HTML) is selected, paste the Simpleembed snippet, and click Update. The feed renders right inside the element.

4Size the element generously

Wix runs embedded code inside a fixed-size frame: the Simpleembed widget auto-resizes within its own iframe, but the outer Wix frame stays exactly the size you draw it. Drag the element to a generous height so the whole feed fits without an inner scrollbar, and use Stretch to full width if you want the feed to span the page. Check the published page on mobile too, since the feed reflows to fewer columns there.

Customize it

Layout (grid or carousel), columns, spacing, captions, and hover effects are all controlled from the Simpleembed dashboard. Change a setting there and every embed updates automatically — you never need to touch the Wix element again just to restyle the feed.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my feed cut off at the bottom?
Wix renders embedded code inside a fixed-size frame that does not grow with its content. The Simpleembed widget resizes itself inside that frame, but the frame itself stays the size you drew it. Drag the element taller in the editor until the whole feed fits.
Do I need an app from the Wix App Market?
No. The feed is a single script tag pasted into Wix's built-in Embed HTML element, so there is nothing to install from the App Market.
Will images break when Instagram links expire?
No. Instagram's CDN links expire after a few days, which is why naive embeds show broken images. Simpleembed proxies and caches every image behind a stable URL, so your feed keeps rendering indefinitely.
Does it slow my Wix site down?
No. The loader script is tiny and loads with the async attribute, so it never blocks your page. The feed renders with lazy-loaded, CDN-cached images.
Is it free?
Yes — one Instagram source and one feed are free forever, with a small Simpleembed watermark on the feed. The $7/month plan removes the watermark and unlocks unlimited feeds and sources.
