Add an Instagram feed to Carrd

Carrd's Embed element accepts custom code, which is all the Simpleembed widget needs. One honest caveat up front: the Embed element requires Carrd's Pro Standardplan or higher — it's not available on the free or Pro Lite plans.

1Get your feed ID

Create a free Simpleembed account, connect your Instagram Business or Creator account, and create a feed. On the Feeds page, open the Embed code dialog and copy your snippet — it looks like this, with your real feed ID filled in:

<script src="https://simpleembed.com/embed.js" data-feed-id="YOUR_FEED_ID" async></script>

2Add an Embed element in Carrd

In the Carrd editor, click the + (Add Element) button in the toolbar and choose Embed. If you don't see it, your site is on the free or Pro Lite plan — upgrade to Pro Standard to unlock it.

3Paste the snippet as code

In the element's settings, set Type to Code, paste your snippet into the Code box, and click Done. Drag the element to where the feed should sit on the page, then hit Publish. The editor may show a placeholder — check the published page to see the live feed.

Customize it

Layout, post count, and styling live in your Simpleembed dashboard — change a setting there and the embed on your Carrd site updates in place. You never need to re-paste the snippet or republish for feed changes.

Frequently asked questions

Which Carrd plan do I need?
Pro Standard or higher. Carrd's Embed element — the only way to run custom code on a Carrd site — is not included in the free or Pro Lite plans.
Can I add the feed without upgrading Carrd?
Not embedded on the page, no. Without the Embed element, Carrd has no way to run the widget script. The closest workaround is a button or image that links out to your Instagram profile.
Will the feed fit Carrd's one-page layout?
Yes. The widget fills the width of its container and adjusts its own height as posts load, so it drops into a Carrd section like any other element.
Does the feed update when I post to Instagram?
Yes. Simpleembed syncs your Instagram account automatically, so new posts appear on your Carrd site within minutes — no republish needed.
How much does Simpleembed cost?
One Instagram source and one feed are free forever. The $7/month plan unlocks unlimited feeds and sources.
