Add an Instagram feed to Framer

Framer's built-in Embed component accepts raw HTML, which is all the Simpleembed widget needs. Paste one script tag and your published site shows a live, auto-updating Instagram feed.

1Get your feed ID

Create a free Simpleembed account, connect your Instagram Business or Creator account, and create a feed. On the Feeds page, open the Embed code dialog and copy your snippet — it looks like this, with your real feed ID filled in:

<script src="https://simpleembed.com/embed.js" data-feed-id="YOUR_FEED_ID" async></script>

2Add an Embed component in Framer

In the Framer editor, open the Insert panel, search for Embed, and drag the Embed component onto your page where the feed should appear.

3Paste the snippet in HTML mode

With the Embed layer selected, set its type to HTML in the properties panel on the right, then paste your snippet into the HTML field. Size the layer's width to fit your layout — the widget fills the width it's given and adjusts its own height.

4Preview and publish

The Framer canvas doesn't render external embeds, so the layer will look empty while you design. Click the play button (or press Cmd/Ctrl+P) to preview, or publish the site — the feed renders on the previewed and published pages.

Customize it

Layout, post count, and styling live in your Simpleembed dashboard — change a setting there and the embed on your Framer site updates in place. You never need to re-paste the snippet or republish for feed changes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the embed blank on the Framer canvas?
Framer's design canvas doesn't run external embeds — that's normal, not a bug. Open the preview (the play button, Cmd/Ctrl+P) or publish the site and the feed will render.
Do I need a paid Framer plan?
No. The Embed component and HTML embeds are available on all Framer plans, including the free tier. You only need a paid Framer plan for things like a custom domain.
Will the feed resize to fit its content?
Yes. The widget reports its height as posts load, so the embed grows to fit automatically. You control the width through the Embed layer's sizing in Framer — set it to fill or a relative width for responsive layouts.
Does the feed update when I post to Instagram?
Yes. Simpleembed syncs your Instagram account automatically, so new posts appear on your published Framer site within minutes — no republish needed.
How much does Simpleembed cost?
One Instagram source and one feed are free forever. The $7/month plan unlocks unlimited feeds and sources.
